About Us

Musical Bridges Music Therapy (MBMT) was founded in 2011 and is located in Springfield Missouri. Our mission is to provide quality music therapy services to all ages and populations and to spread the awareness of music therapy in the community. Music is all around us. On the radio, the television, telephones, elevators, grocery stores, etc. The list is never ending! We encourage you to discover how this wonderful gift of music can help improve your daily life. Whether it’s as simple as putting a smile on your face, or helping you overcome a greater obstacle in life, music may be just the connection, or “bridge”, that you have been looking for.

She holds a Masters degree in music therapy from Drury University and received her Board Certification in Music Therapy in 2008 after completing her internship with MusicWorx of California in San Diego. Leslie provided services for the Center for Music Therapy and Wellness in Springfield for nearly 10 years while also serving as a clinical supervisor for the music therapy students at Drury University. She now teaches part time on the music therapy staff at Drury and serves as the internship director for MBMT. In addition to teaching, she provides therapy and music lessons through MBMT, and leads various early childhood development classes for children and their families. Leslie has experience working with many settings including schools, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, dementia and Alzheimer’s care (both assisted and independent living), addiction recovery, oncology centers, rehabilitation (both physical and neurological), hospice,  and wellness and integrative medicine programs.

Molly Duggins, MT-BC has been a board-certified music therapist since August 2017. She graduated from Drury University with a Bachelor’s in Music Therapy. During coursework and internship at Musical Bridges, Molly worked with various populations including with individuals who have developmental disabilities, those in assisted and independent living as well as dementia units, substance abuse recovery groups, hospital
oncology units, at risk youth without homes as well as those living in transitional care, and wellness groups with adults. Molly enjoys working with all ages, but has a great passion interacting with adolescents or older adults. In addition to providing music therapy  services, she is also a music therapy internship supervisor. Molly’s love of music extends outside of therapy, where she is a worship leader at her church in Ozark.

Emily Matson, MTI, is completing her music therapy internship at MBMT. She recently finished her undergraduate coursework at Drury University and is looking forward to graduating in May and receiving her board certification the Summer of 2021.
